If you have left after dinner or a feast unclaimed, already cooled mashed potatoes , then from it you can cook incredibly delicious potato pies, which no doubt will taste even the most fastidious. Several variants of this dish are offered below in our recipes.

In the mashed potatoes add egg, flour, ground pepper and, if necessary, salt and mix well. The amount of flour depends on the density of the mashed potatoes, the more it is liquefied, the more flour will be left for the potato dough.

For the filling, we pass in a frying pan with refined vegetable oil the peeled onions, cleaned and lightly chopped until transparent, and then we lay the minced meat and fry, stirring and kneading them until ready. At the end of the frying process, season the mass to taste with salt and ground black pepper.

From the potato dough, with moistened hands, we form a cake, we put on top of it stuffing from minced meat, we form a round or oblong patty, we pan it in breadcrumbs and brown to a beautiful brown color on medium-intensity fire from both sides.

Pies with mashed potatoes and mushrooms

In mashed potatoes add egg yolks, soft butter and mix thoroughly. If dry mushrooms are used to prepare the mushroom fillings, rinse them thoroughly, boil in slightly salted water, and then drain the water, let it drain, and place the mushroom mass on a cutting board and cut it with a sharp knife until small slices are obtained. In the frying pan fry the cleared and crushed onion first, and then add boiled or, if fresh mushrooms are used, a fresh mashed potatoes and brown all together for several minutes or until cooked.

From the potato mass with moistened hands, we form a cake, put a mushroom filling in the center and, having turned the edges, we give the cake the shape of an oblong patty. We wet it first in a little whipped whites, and then bread thoroughly in breadcrumbs and place in a refined oil on a griddle. After browning the products from both sides, we extract them on a napkin for several minutes, and then shift it onto a plate and can serve.

How to cook pies from mashed potatoes in the oven?

In mashed potatoes add three quarters of the oil and mix thoroughly. In warm milk, we dissolve yeast and sugar and leave it to form a frothy cap for a few minutes. Whisk egg whites with salt until a thick foam, mix with the yeast mixture and potato paste, and then, gradually pouring the sifted flour, knead the dough. It should be soft, pleasant to the touch and not at all steep. We place it in a container, lubricated with vegetable oil, and leave it in the heat until it doubles in volume.

After that, from the potato dough that comes up we form pies in the traditional way. We roll balls, we form cakes from them, fill them with filling and we make pies. We place the products on a baking sheet, before having smeared it with refined oil, give some time to disintegrate, and then smear with yolk and determine in a preheated oven. The temperature regime for baking is set at 190 degrees. Once the brownies are browned, you can extract them from the oven and, with a towel, cover it for ten minutes.
