Master-class "How to make bracelets from elastic bands"
To perform this exciting work you will not need so many materials. Firstly, these are small bands (the so-called loom bandz). They will need so much to be able to weave a bracelet of sufficient length (approximately 30 to 60 pieces, depending on the desired size of the bracelet). The color of the rubber bands can be absolutely anything. It is interesting to see the alternation of two colors, as well as bracelets from a variety of rubber bands of different bright colors. And secondly, you will need an S-shaped buckle. As a rule, fasteners are sold complete with elastic bands and are transparent, which makes them universal for weaving bracelets of any colors.
Many bracelets of more complex shape are braided on a special machine, but our version is one of the simplest. Therefore, no additional equipment is required here - as a rule, such a bracelet of elastic bands can be weaved simply on the fingers.
And now we will consider step by step, how bracelets from elastic bands on fingers (without the machine tool) are braided:
- Take the first elastic band and cross it, giving it the shape of a figure eight. Then pass a finger into each of the resulting holes (index and middle).
- Put two more gums on your fingers. They do not need to be crossed (like all the rest) - so we do only with the very first elastic band of the future bracelet. If you have thought out in advance what will be the color of your craft, then when choosing and alternating the rubber bands, pay attention to their colors.
- This item is the most important, since the entire process of braiding the bracelet is the performance of the same action. For this, the first elastic (in the photo it is white) must be carefully removed from the fingers. Do not be afraid that the weave at the same time will blossom - on the contrary, this elastic band will connect the next two small jumper in the middle.
- Put on your fingers a new rubber band of black color - it should be slightly higher than the previous one. Then we repeat the action described in point 3: remove the white elastic band from the fingers below and release it, forming a new loop.
- The next loop of the bracelet loom bandz is performed similarly, as well as all subsequent ones. Only the color of the rubber bands changes (although for the first time you can make a monochrome bracelet). By the way, this method of weaving is called a "fish tail", probably because the long and flexible tail of the bracelet is really something like a fish.
- We complete the netting in the following way. Do so that you have on your fingers there was only one elastic (for this, remove the previous one and pass it between the fingers in the usual way).
- Carefully remove the last elastic from the fingers, and then thread one of its loops into the other. Tighten the elastic band so that the bracelet ends with one long loop.
- Prepare the buckle (it is most convenient to use S-shaped) and hook it on the loop that was created during the previous step. Connect the other side of the fastener to the beginning of the bracelet. If you, just like in this master class, perform a mottled two-tone bracelet, try to ensure that the color of the first and last gum is the same - so the craft will look better.
- If you do not have such a fastener, you can just finish the weaving with the usual knot, and then tie it to the beginning of the bracelet. However, note that the bracelet with the clasp looks more accurate.
