New Year in India - traditions

We used to celebrate the first of January very loudly and whole state. But not all people in the world celebrate it that way. For example, India is happy about the New Year, four times, because each state has its own date and tradition of celebrating this celebration.

But this does not prevent people from enjoying the event. The difficulty lies only in the fact that it is rather difficult for a person living there to determine which year it is in the street. This country celebrates four eras. In March, people celebrate the New Year in the south, in April - in the north, in late October - people from the west. And in the state of Kerala, the Indians are having fun in July and then in August.

New Year in India has a wide variety of traditions. This indicates to us that the residents of the country also brightly celebrate this event, as well as all other celebrations. During the holiday, they are as happy as children. And it's not surprising.

One of the traditions of the southern part of India is that all mothers put a variety of sweets, fruits, small gifts on a special kind of tray. In the morning, when the day of the new year has come, the children, closing their eyes, should wait until they are brought to this special subject. And only then the kids will be able to see what a surprise was prepared for them.

People who live in the north of the country like to celebrate the New Year, decorating themselves with flowers of various shades, this is their tradition of celebrating the celebration. The central part of India during this event becomes an orange tone. Flags of these shades fill all the streets, and at night you can see flickering lights on the roofs of houses. Another tradition inherent in the center is to burn a scarecrow or decorated tree.

Festivities are also accompanied by songs and dances, symbolic battles, the launching of a kite, and walking on hot coals. During the fun you can pour all friends and strangers with water or paint.
