Of course, all the worries about the suit fall on Mom's shoulders. And then there are several options: to buy or rent a package you like. And you can sew yourself, for example, a turnip costume with your own hands. Well, we'll show you some ideas.

How to make a turnip costume?

In fact, it is not so difficult to create a turnip costume, however, some efforts will still have to be made. So, for work, prepare the following materials:

So, we start to make children's costume turnips with their own hands. It will consist of a sarafan, a headdress and an overhead collar.

  1. Let's start with creating a dress for a suit. The pattern of the turnip costume is simple: just a rectangle of yellow fabric is needed. The length of the rectangle should be equal to the volume of the child's hips, increased by 2.5 times. And the width is measured from the armpits to the knee. To make the sundress voluminous from above and below, we recommend making a few darts.
  2. The canvas is duplicated by a thick layer of foam rubber or a sintepon, that is, that there is a house. We close the sintepon lining.
  3. Then, the upper and lower edge of the fabric is wrapped in 3-4 cm and we spread out, thus creating a cake for the gum. The elastic band is inserted, tightened and fastened.
  4. Connect the sides of the sarafan fabric with a machine seam.
  5. Open two straps 3-4 cm wide and sew to the sarafan.
  6. The ready sarafan should be worn on a plain t-shirt or yellow or green golfcock (which you can find).
  7. For a full image of the turnip, you need to make an overhead collar of satin ribbon. Its length is calculated as follows: 6 cm are added to the circumference of the baby's neck. Six leaves of the turnip are cut from the felt, which are then sewn upside down along the perimeter of the tape.

The tape can be fixed on the neck with Velcro.

The head-dress for the turnip costume is made simply by the hands: from the green felt it is necessary to cut out three or four sheets, which then are glued or sewn to the usual rim for the hair.

This option is suitable for a turnip costume for a girl. The boy is better to sew a simple cap from a rectangle of yellow fabric. Long edges of the fabric need to be wrapped and stitched. Insert a rubber band into one of the kulis and tighten it. Then sew narrow edges of the workpiece together. The received hat simply decorate with leaves.

That's all!
