Fairy costume with your own hands

Who among us would not want to turn into a magic fairy even for five minutes? But this magic is under the power of every woman, it is enough just to include imagination and ... a sewing machine! Today we will tell you how to make a fairy carnival costume with our own hands.

Preparing for the carnival!

Sewing a fairy costume is not at all difficult, because you will need to make three basic elements for it - a beautiful dress, wings and a magic wand.

1. To make an adult New Year's fairy costume by ourselves, we will need a transparent blue cloth, for example, tulle or organza. In our case, the width of the fabric is 2.5 meters.
2. We cut the fabric into strips with a width of 20 cm. For the first tier of the skirt we need 4 strips, and for the second - 7. For a small bottom frill, 20 strips with a width of 5 cm are needed.
3. In the middle of the strip of 5 cm wide we lay a line, with which we then attach it.
4. Pritachivayu narrow frill to the bottom of the second tier of the skirt. We spend the first and second tiers of the skirt.
5. For the very skirt of the skirt we take an opaque cloth in the tone of chiffon and we cut out of it a strip with a width of 40 cm and a length equal to the girth of the hips. We tie the coquette to the upper tier of the skirt. We bend the upper edge inward and sew a rubber band.
6. Now proceed to decorating our magic skirt. To do this, we need a taffeta width of 1.5 cm. We attach the taffeta segments to the waistband of the skirt at regular intervals. Get this picture
7. In principle, you can stop at this by tying the ends of the ribbons to the bows. But we decided to give our skirt a truly magical look. Therefore, we draw on paper the pattern of the petal.
8. Cut out of the satin fabric eight petals.
9. We spend them in pairs.
10. We turn out it is visible and we sweep it in the upper corners of the loop.
11. We cut the loops.
12. We fix the petals on the skirt with the help of previously attached ribbons. It turns out that such an unusual skirt.
13. But what is a fairy without wings ? For them, we need a thick wire, for example, hangers for clothes. We bend the wire in the form of a wing. We will wrap the wings with nylon.
14. Surplus nylon cut at the base of the wing. Carefully tie the ends of the nylon. The outline of each wing is decorated with a glass bead or large sparkles
15. After that, we connect both wings together. We attach the junction of the satin ribbon. We decorate the place of connection with a tape from organza.
16. From it we make straps on which the wings will be fastened to the back.
17. Now it's a little thing - we find a suitable jersey, we take a magic wand (you can buy it in a store or make it yourself from improvised materials) and the New Year costume "Fairy" is ready!
