Felting out of wool - a master class

To make any craft, shoes , accessory or toy in the technique of "felting" (felting), you should first familiarize yourself with the preparation for the work of the material and the methods of manufacturing various forms.

MK №1 - How to paint wool for felting?

This is a fairly simple process. It will be necessary for him:

• white natural wool;
• dyes;
• water;
• vinegar;
• wooden stick;
• beaker;
• glass wide tanks;
• cooker or microwave oven;
• disposable gloves.

Progress:

1. Take a glass pan, pour into it ¼ of its volume of water, then add a few spoons of vinegar. Then tear off a small piece of wool from the main piece and place it in a prepared container, spreading evenly along the bottom. The material is left in the water for about 2 hours.
2. While the wool is soaking away, it is necessary to dilute the dyes. To do this, pour a glass of hot or warm water and dilute the powder in it. If you want a bright shade, you should add a lot of powder, if pale - then a little bit. It is better to add it gradually until the desired color is obtained. Mix with a wooden stick so that there is no residue left on the bottom.
3. Pour the colored solution onto the wool, distributing the paint evenly. It is better to straighten the same wooden stick, because you can paint your hands.
4. A container with painted hair is put in the oven at a temperature of 250 ° C or in a microwave oven at an average power. Water should not boil, if there are characteristic signs of this, the container must be stopped heating. We need to ensure that the coloring element is absorbed into the wool, and the water becomes transparent, then our pan can be pulled out and put to cool.
5. While the water cools, the wool must remain in it. After that, we take it out and rinse it under warm running water.
6. Dry the dyed hair can be put on towels or hung on ropes.

If you want to get multi-colored wool, then from it you need to make a cloth, put it on a plastic film, and after that apply different paints on top. You can do this with a brush or an atomizer. Next, the canvas will have to be rolled up and acted in the same way as it was described earlier.

It is also possible to paint ready-made forms. Having made of wool balls, we breed a colored powder in warm water, and then we lower them into it. After the wool absorbs the paint, we pull it out and dry it in the sun. Thus, with the felting of wool, you can get colorful beads.

But it's better to paint the material for felting first, and only then to start doing the craft.

MK №2 - Felting out of wool - matryoshka with hearts

We need a needle for felting and colored wool for its execution.

Progress:

1. We make two balls of blue wool.
2. Wrapping them with small pieces of wool and using a needle, we connect them together and cover them with an even layer of pink color.
3. In the same way (nailing white wool), we make a matryoshka face and apron.
4. With a felt-tip pen we paint the eyes, and the hair, the patterns on the apron and the ends of the kerchief are stuffed with a needle.

Our matryoshka in the technique of felting is ready.

Now it is necessary to perform the hearts. This can be done in two ways:

1. We take the necessary form, fill it with hair and, piercing it with a needle, form a dense figure.
2. Twist a small roller, fold it in half and then make a flat heart, working on this piece of a needle.
