Kitchen sink from stainless steel - the rules of choice

Having decided to acquire a sink from stainless steel, it is necessary to pay attention to such moments:

  1. The quality of stainless steel. On the sink must be a marking 18/10, indicating the presence in the stainless steel 18 percent chromium and 10 percent nickel. In addition, the quality of stainless steel will help to check and an ordinary magnet - a good stainless steel to it does not attract.
  2. Thickness of stainless steel. Walls of a sink should be not more thin 0,6 mm as sinks with smaller thickness will serve not for long and will strongly make noise in the course of operation. Firms with a name produce a sink with thickness from 1 to 1.2 mm, but this significantly affects their cost.
  3. Method of manufacturing a sink. There are two ways to make a stainless sink - stamping and welding. Stamped washers are of lesser depth, but at the same time cheaper than welded. Washings made by the welded method differ in the greater thickness of the walls and in the depth of the bowl, which means that it is much more convenient to use, although more expensive.
  4. Method of installation. By the method of installation, we distinguish cutting, integrable and overhead kitchen sinks from stainless steel. Integrable fit only for countertops of artificial stone and plastic. Mortise mounted in a specially prepared hole in the countertop. The most budgetary option - overhead sinks, installed on top of a special cabinet.
  5. The shape of the sink. It does not matter which kitchen sink from stainless steel will appeal to the hostess - angular, with a wing, round or rectangular, after all it is important only how well it will fit into the design of the kitchen. The only factor determining the usability of the kitchen sink is its depth, which should be at least 18-20 cm.
