Classic mulled wine - recipe

In cold weather it is especially pleasant to warm up with the help of a hot and fragrant mulled wine cup. A mixture of spices and red wine is able to cope not only with frosts and bad mood, but also become an excellent means for fighting the common cold. Recipes below are devoted to variations of classic mulled wine, which you can easily do at home.

Recipe for classic mulled wine with orange

In addition to the orange itself, you can add the characteristic citrus flavor with orange liqueur, and if the sweetness of the drink is not enough, then add a little liquid honey.

For cooking, it is better to choose a thick-walled pan that will help the classic mulled wine to be prepared with uniform heating and constant temperature. In the saucepan combine cider and wine. Add the citrus juice, liqueur and spices, then place the dishes over the medium fire and cook, not allowing boiling, for half an hour. Strain the ready-made drink and pour over the glasses. Serve with fresh orange and lemon slices.

The classic mulled wine recipe from red wine

Pour the sugar into the sauté pan and add the tangerine juice. Pour in the water and allow the crystals to completely dissolve over medium heat. Add the spices and the contents of the vanilla pod to the warmed syrup. Add the wine and let the drink boil at minimum heat for about half an hour. Ready mulled wine add a small amount of brandy and pour into glasses.

Classic recipe mulled wine with orange and apple

In the saucepan pour water and honey, add the juice of one lemon. Put the syrup on the fire and add the spices together with the citrus peel and slices of berries. Cook the syrup on minimum fire for about half an hour, this will help the basis to absorb the whole taste of nested supplements. After a while, pour in the wine. Leave the mulled wine on fire for another couple of minutes, carefully watching that the drink does not boil, otherwise all alcohol will evaporate. Before you pour mulled wine on glasses, strain it.

Cooking classic mulled wine at home

If you are a fan of white wine, then cook a classic drink based on it. Light Chardonnay has a neutral taste with light acidity, and therefore perfectly absorbs the aroma and taste of added spices.

Squeeze the juice of one of the oranges, and from the second, peel off the zest. Mix the wine with the juice and place on the fire. Add sweeteners and wait until the crystals are completely dissolved. Based on personal taste preferences and used wine, you may need more or less sugar. Put cinnamon, anise and cloves, leave the drink on fire for another 20 minutes.
