Damage to the organs of the musculoskeletal system is one of the most serious. Dislocation of the ankle is a fairly common injury, which is encountered when falling, sharp jerks and excessive load. In this case, the affected joints are displaced, and damage to tissues and ligaments is observed, which requires urgent treatment.
Symptoms of ankle dislocation
There are a number of signs that accompany unhealthy abnormalities in the ankle. These include:
- Cutting pain, manifested in motion and at rest;
- deformity of the limb, its swelling;
- puffiness and the appearance of a hematoma;
- increased pain when trying to stand, leaning on a limb.
First aid for ankle dislocation
Since the direction of this dislocation is much more complicated than other injuries, it should be done only by a specialist in pre-anesthesia. It is important to know that an attempt to independently cure trauma can cause irreparable harm. Therefore, when getting damaged, you should get to the emergency room. To calm the pain, you can take an analgesic and apply cold to the limb.
Treatment of minor dislocation of the ankle joint provides for the removal of the pain syndrome by:
- applying cold;
- taking analgesics ;
- fixing the joint at right angles;
- provision of a stationary state.
To immobilize the limb at the site of the dislocation, it is best to apply an elastic bandage or apply a special fixation bandage.
After about three days, when the pain that has arisen due to dislocation of the ankle joint, will subside, you can go to the treatment of injury at home. Such therapy provides for:
- drawing on a sore spot of an iodine grid ;
- reception of hot baths;
- application of compresses;
- massage.
