Canned corn at home

Corn is added to various salads , hot dishes or simply served to the main course. In its fresh form, unfortunately, it is not stored for long, and, to use it all year round, it is best to preserve it. Of course, you can freeze it or dry it, but canned corn is incredibly tasty, sweet and does not lose its useful properties.

How can I preserve corn at home?

For canning, we choose maize of milk maturity, we clean it of leaves, hairs and lower it gently into hot water. Boil about 3 minutes, and then pour it with cold water. After that, carefully separate the grains and put them into a colander. Separately boiled filtered water and sterilized at the same time jars. Purified grains are transferred to boiling water, we blanch them for 3 minutes, and this time we prepare the fill. To do this, boil the water, throw sugar and salt and mix until all the crystals have dissolved. Prepared corn put in jars, pour marinade, cover with lids and sterilize for 3.5 hours. After that we roll them up and store canned corn all winter in a dark and cold place.

Corn is released from leaves, hairs and thoroughly washed. Then put it in a pot of water, put it on a stove and cook it in a weak boil for 5 minutes. After that, gently spread the cobs on a flat plate and leave to cool. In the pot, pour 1 liter of cold water, throw salt and boil. Then the brine is cooled and go directly to the canning. Corn corn spread in jars and pour salt water. Cover the top with covers and sterilize for 1 hour. Then roll and leave to cool, and then rearrange in the cold.

Sweet Canned Corn

Corn is washed, cleaned and spread tightly in a saucepan. Then fill with filtered water, salt to taste and put on fire. We bring the liquid to a boil, reduce the temperature and cook the cobs for 40 minutes. After this, the water is carefully drained and the corn is allowed to cool completely. In pre-prepared half a liter jars pour in table vinegar and pour fine salt and sugar. We take out carefully all the grains and put them up to the top in a jar. Fill with steep boiling water and cover with lids. The bottom of a large aluminum pot is covered with a towel and we put on it jars with corn. We pour hot water, light a slow fire and sterilize all 3 hours. Next, the jars roll up and turn upside down, leaving them in this condition until completely cooled.

Cobs clean and thoroughly rinse. We boil them for 15 minutes in boiling water, and then pour cold and cool. This time we are preparing marinade: boil water with the addition of large salt. In the prepared jars, throw the bay leaf and pour a little vinegar. Lay the cobs upside down and pour hot marinade. Cover the top with lids and sterilize for an hour, and then immediately roll up and turn the bottom up.
