Wastefulness

The leader of all nations, Stalin said: "The crisis, unemployment, waste, poverty of the masses - these are incurable diseases of capitalism." And the Koran says: "Eat and drink, but do not waste, because he does not like wasteful." Waste in the language of the Koran sounds like "Israf", which means - to waste, immensely spend, go beyond what is permissible or go to extremes, to use not by purpose. All these words in the holy book are used in all derivatives. Islam and waste are two incompatible concepts that can not be combined in any way in one person.

Varieties of waste as a blemish

  1. Waste, as such. This means that a person can drink, eat and use all available goods, but it is forbidden to abuse it or use excessively. To all who are engaged in every possible waste, Allah will show his displeasure with severe punishment. It is also necessary to spend all available goods only in the assigned amount.

For a sufficient understanding, let us give an example of how wastefulness manifests in Islam and how a person can be punished.

Imagine: for the ablution (the symbolic purification of the body with water), it is necessary to order a liter of water. If we spend more, we are already wasting, in a different way, "Israf". By the way, there is a hadith on this subject, which shows how one believer, using his bath, uses the water more than required. To this the messenger of God makes a remark to him. He is lost, wondering about where there can be excessiveness in such a blessed process as washing, and the prophet answers to him that even if he is to stand by the river, he should still be economical.

The essence of this example is, first of all, that, no matter how much something you do not have, you should use it moderately and by purpose. Since the owner of everything on the planet is Allah, only he knows what and why to use. The abundance of all the blessings still does not allow anyone to unreasonably and unceremoniously use them.

  2. Use is not consistent with the goals. Time is an example of this kind of waste. To each person, Allah determined the life-span, including for the fulfillment of certain tasks. Therefore, we are in this world in order to go through all the prescribed tests and eventually find either salvation or death. It is necessary to use time correctly and expediently. So, if your waste of time is not dedicated to solving especially important and urgent problems and instructions for ensuring your own life, helping others, and preparing for the eternal, then this is no longer an expedient use. Another example can be called aimless chatter about nothing.

In conclusion, it must be said that modesty and frugality, from the perspective of Islam, are considered to be the most important qualities, and profanity on the contrary is one of the worst vices according to the Koran, which has terrible consequences that must be indicated.

The holy book of all Muslims says that Allah says not to waste, but as we know that all sinful actions are always punishable, then we should know that if we do not be forgiven, we will therefore be punished. Moreover, everyone knows that any sinful action, in particular Israf, is considered the cause of the loss of Allah's mercy.

Waste also contributes to the appearance of such vices as greed and insatiability, which leads to the fact that a person ceases to enjoy what he has. In the absence of this skill, a person does not want to live according to conscience and works, and therefore seeks easy ways in everything, forgetting about honor. Take care not only about your body, but also your soul, inner world.
