History of the theater

The new theater in Copenhagen first opened its doors in September 1908. Danish architect Ludwig Andersen worked on the project, and another architect - L.P. Goodme. During the erection of the structure there was a loud trial, according to which Ludwig Andersen was expelled from the Danish Association of Architects.

The first play, which was staged at the New Theater in Copenhagen, was Pierre Burton's "Beautiful Woman from Marseilles." The play involved famous Danish actors - Paul Roymert and Asta Nielsen. For 82 years of active operation, the building of the New Theater in Copenhagen was badly damaged, so a decision was made on its capital restoration, which lasted until 1994.
