Copenhagen Zoo


Copenhagen Zoo - the most visited attraction of the prosperous European state Denmark . It is located in the suburb of Frederiksborg between two parks, Sönnermark and Frederiksberg. The time of the foundation of the zoo in Copenhagen falls on the middle of the 19th century, or rather, in 1859. At the request of the Danish scholar Niels Kierbörling, the garden of the former residence of kings was placed at his disposal in order to collect in this area the maximum number of different species of animals to observe their behavior. The content and quality care for them was not paid attention at first.

In the early 20th century, the Copenhagen Zoo could look at the life and life of Indians (men, women and children) inhabited by 25 people in its territory. They lived here in huts of palm leaves only in the warm season. Over time, the number of animals grew, and the priority was the quality provision of living conditions for each individual species. The main goal was to create natural conditions for their natural habitat.

The Copenhagen Zoo is the largest in Europe. A street passes through the territory, dividing its entire area into 2 parts. The structure of these parts includes seven zones:

A large area of ​​the zoo in Copenhagen is reserved for the house of elephants, inside which an electronic scoreboard is installed. In other areas of the Copenhagen Zoo live pink flamingos, Tasmanian devil, hippo, kangaroo, brown and polar bears, as well as many other animals from all continents.

The main contingent of the zoo is children. Here they are hired for ponies and entertained in the game complex "Rabbit Town". And during the feeding hours they will be allowed to feed predators, chimpanzees, seals or sea lions from the hands. Here, children can try to choose 50 kinds of delicious ice cream and buy a toy of any animal.

On what to get there?

If you go by metro, the nearest stations are Frederiksberg and Fasanvejen. From here to the zoo - about 15 minutes on foot. The same is from the railway station Valby. Buses number 4A, 6A, 26 and 832 will also take you to the zoo. Nos. 6A and 832 stop right at the entrances.
