Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, or Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, in Denmark is named for the three wives of Bruno Alexander, whose name was Louise. The museum building is a landmark of classical Danish architecture. Louisiana is included in the book by Schulz Patricia "1000 places to visit" and is located in the hundred most popular and visited museums in the world. Modern art can be loved, you can not not love, but it will not leave anyone indifferent. Therefore, if you are in Denmark , be sure to visit this museum.

A little about the building of the museum

The museum began to be built in 1958, for more than 50 years the building was rebuilt, changed, and new rooms were added. The art was changing - the museum was changing. If initially the building was a small villa with low ceilings and small halls for expositions, now, in connection with the development of architecture, design and new directions in the visual arts, the museum itself has changed.

At the moment the Louisiana Museum, located not far from Copenhagen , is arranged to go around it in a circle, descending and climbing the stairs, passing glass, filled with light, corridors. Each part of the building has its own exit to the park by the sea and to the restaurant with a terrace. In the park there is a huge collection of modern sculptures, all of them are arranged in such a way that each sculpture belongs to a certain hall with the exhibition and was visible through the glass wall of the museum. Some of the major works of Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, Max Ernst, are in the park, closer to trees and water, symbolizing unity with nature.

Today it is a new type of museum in Copenhagen , which perfectly combines its own collection of works, has constantly changing exhibitions, actively works with the public. Under one roof of this museum with graphics, painting, sculpture, cinema, videoart, music, literature are combined, maximally expanding the audience of their fans. For many years, festivals, concerts of modern music have been held in Louisiana, films are shown, performances are staged, meetings, seminars and discussions are held. Of course, fine arts remain a priority in the museum, but the expansion of attention to other areas of our time gives many advantages to this type of museums.
