Symptoms of stagnation of bile in the gallbladder are similar in adults and children. This condition is dangerous because it can cause the development of the pathology of the biliary system (basically it is typical for a pathological disorder that for a long time remains without proper treatment).
Types of cholestasis
In scientific stagnation of bile in the bile is called cholestasis. Distinguish the following subspecies of this disease:
- clinical, which provokes the delay of certain components of the blood and the formation of bile from them;
- morphological (manifested in the accumulation of bile in the bile ducts);
- functional, in which the volume of bile is minimized in the ducts and, as a result, a decrease in bilirubin is observed.
- extrahepatic (with it there is a large amount of bile in the extrahepatic ducts).
Given this classification of cholestasis, it is easy to conclude that the appearance of this ailment is provoked by intrahepatic as well as extrahepatic causes. In addition, the long-term use of contraceptive, sugar reducing, antibacterial and other groups of medicinal preparations also contributes to the development of cholestasis.
Symptoms of stagnation of bile in the gallbladder
The manifestation of symptoms directly depends on what triggered such a state. Some symptoms appear immediately, others - after a certain period of time. However, all patients suffering from cholestasis note a worsening of the general condition.
Among the most common signs of congestion of bile in the gallbladder can be identified as follows:
- The proteins and skin turn yellow, which is caused by the accumulation of bilirubin ;
- dark urine (it is through this biological fluid that bilirubin is excreted from the body);
- clarification of stool (caused by the fact that bilirubin does not enter the intestine);
- severe itching, which is caused by the accumulation of bile pigment in the epidermis;
- indigestibility of certain foods, because of which after their consumption, there is severe nausea and even vomiting;
- fragility of bones and poor coagulability of blood (this is caused by insolubility of the body calcium and vitamin D);
- bitter taste in the mouth ;
- paroxysmal acute or dull pain in the right hypochondrium.
In addition, during this period the patient can even change his character. A person becomes quick-tempered, stubborn and dissatisfied with everyone around him.
