Urdoksa is an effective domestic preparation with a rather wide spectrum of action, which is available in the form of capsules in a gelatinous shell. Consider how this medicine works, and what are the indications for the use of Urdoksy.
Composition and pharmacological properties of the drug Urdoksa
The active ingredient of the drug is ursodeoxycholic acid. This substance is one of bile acids, which is the least aggressive and does not have cytotoxicity. Ursodeoxycholic acid for the preparation is obtained in a synthetic way. Auxiliary substances of the preparation are: starch, silicon dioxide colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate. Also, we list the substances that make up the drug shell: gelatin, acetic acid, methylhydroxybenzoate, titanium dioxide, propylhydroxybenzoate.
The main substance of the drug, embedded in the membranes of the liver cells, has the following effect:
- stabilization of hepatocyte structure;
- protection of the liver from damage by bile salts;
- activation of pancreatic secretion;
- decrease in the formation of stones in the gallbladder (decrease in the lithogenicity of bile);
- decrease in the production of toxic bile acids and stimulation of their excretion;
- decrease cholesterol production and obstruct its absorption in the intestine;
- stimulation of synthesis and excretion of bile;
- activation of gastric secretion;
- strengthening immunity due to influence on immunological reactions in the liver.
Indications for the appointment of Urdoksy
The main indications for the use of this medication are cholestatic liver diseases with an autoimmune component, as well as disorders of the bile excretory system. So, the drug is effective when:
- primary biliary cirrhosis without signs of decompensation (a disease in which inflammation and autoimmune changes in the liver and bile ducts occur with a violation of bile secretion);
- biliary reflux gastritis (a disease in which the contents of the duodenum are thrown into the stomach and destructively affects its walls).
Another indication for the use of Urdox tablets (capsules) is the presence of stones in the gallbladder. In doing so, the following conditions must be observed:
- stones should be cholesterol (not determined at x-ray);
- the size of the stones should not exceed 20 cm;
- the gallbladder is in a functional state;
- the filling of the gallbladder with stones should not be more than half of its volume;
- the permeability of the ducts is normal.
