History of the Pavlovsk Palace
A massive stone palace was built on the bank of the Slavyanka River, on the site where the village of Pavlovskoye was previously located.
The first stone of the palace was laid on the site of a dismantled wooden mansion, known as Pauliust. Therefore, originally Pavlovsk Palace looked like a country estate in the style of a Palladian villa.
