If this is a so-called compact, then there is already a plastic rod and the folding method will not work. But a small float, located on the axis of the lever, will be your salvation. The closer the float to the valve body, the more water is collected in the tank. If the water supply is lower, it is enough to adjust the water level limiter or plastic rod, it connects the float itself and the valve lever.
