Arrangement of seats in the compartment car

In the period of holidays tickets for travel on trains, especially in compartment cars, are in high demand, so many travelers try to acquire them in advance. Today, online booking of railway travel documents is offered by many Internet services, but often buyers are faced with one problem - how to choose a place so that the ride was as comfortable as possible. For this it is useful to know the location of the seats in the compartment or reserved seat of the train. Online services mainly offer customers to get acquainted with the numbering of seats in the compartment car according to the plan-scheme, which is understandable to a few. Let's try to understand.

Numbering of places and their number

Coupe cars are called second-class passenger cars, which have a separate entrance and berth for four people. The main advantage of such a car in front of the usual reserved seat and sedentary is the presence of a locked door inside. If all the passengers of one compartment sleep, then the closed door allows you not to worry about the safety of personal belongings and luggage.

The location and number of seats in the compartment car of the train depends on the model of the railway car itself, as well as on the manufacturer. But the places are always numbered the same: the lower - it's odd, and the upper - even.

The classic layout of the compartment car (seats in the compartment and their numbering) is as follows:

In the standard compartment car there are nine compartments, that is, of all beds 36. However, one can find models of cars with ten and eleven compartments (40 and 44 berths respectively). Of course, such cars are several meters long. The length of the corridor in the car is 18 meters.

But the sockets in the old-style compartment car are not provided. Of course, in the corridor there are three, but 110-volt ones (usually opposite the third, fifth and eighth coupe). And the current in them is constant, not variable, the voltage is constantly changing, which can cause the failure of any electrical devices. In addition, they are located on the outer wall, that is, without an extension cable in the compartment, you do not reach the device, because the other passengers will not jump over tight wires in the corridor.

Usually there are two toilets in the car, it often happens that one of them is "appropriated" by the conductors, placing on it a sign with the inscription "official". Also in each car there are two vestibules: the first is the entrance to the car, and the second - the vestibule was previously used as a place for smoking, but after the introduction of the ban it lost its functions. At present, it is another emergency exit in the compartment car. For the conductors there is a separate compartment, as well as a working compartment.

Coupe

Coupe cars (2K), in contrast to 2T cars belonging to the economy class, are more comfortable, but inferior to this criterion SV-cars. Berths in the compartment are arranged in two tiers. The size of the standard compartment in the car is 1.75x1.95, but in some models of cars they may differ. In the same way, the width of the shelves (the standard width is 60 centimeters) can differ in compartment cars.

It is worth noting that in some formulations there are divisions for female and male coupes, which is very convenient for people traveling alone.

In order to ensure the safety of train passengers, emergency windows are provided in each compartment car.

Usually they are in the third and sixth compartments. Such windows are not subject to free opening, so in the event of a malfunction of the air conditioner (and it is in the common cars in the compartment cars) in the hot season passengers will have to sweat.
