One of the oldest cities in Ukraine is Vinnitsa. For its centuries-old history the city belonged to different states, which, naturally, was reflected in its sights, due to which many of them are considered the most beautiful in the country .
What can you see in Vinnitsa?
A lot of famous people were born or worked in this city. In memory of them, the buildings where they lived were preserved, some of them became museums dedicated to their famous residents, and the rest are simply protected by the state and have the status of cultural monuments. They include:
- Museum-Estate Pirogov (do not confuse with the museum "Pirogovo" in Kiev );
- the Kotsyubynsky Museum;
- the house of Captain Dlugolensky;
- the house of Captain Chetkov;
- the estate of Grokholsky;
- house of A. A. Brusilov.

In Vinnitsa, many beautiful buildings have been preserved, which were built in different epochs, they differ in style, while almost all of them are considered monuments of architecture:
- Regional Universal Scientific Library named after K.A. Timiryazev;
- Philharmonic;
- Academic Music and Drama Theater. M. Sadovsky.

Among the historical sights of Vinnitsa, the following stand out:
- Water tower or "fire tower" - originally built to provide water to the local population. It is located at the intersection of Hrushevsky and Kozitsky streets. During the war it was used as an observation post. Now here is the Museum of the memory of those killed in Afghanistan.
- Mury is a complex of fortifications of the Jesuit Monastery, built in the early 17th century, used to protect the population during raids. Now only 1 tower is preserved with the fortifications adjacent to it on Sobornaya Street.
- Ruins of Hitler's bunker "Werwolf" - this is the place where during the occupation (1942-1944), the Germans were located. It consisted of several ground structures and underground bunkers. Now it is an open-air museum.
- The Voroshilov bunker or the "Southern Bug" facility was established in 1936 to command the troops engaged in protection of the direction to the city. Actively used during the Great Patriotic War, first by the command of the Southern Front, and then it was occupied by the headquarters of the Wehrmacht command. Now there is a rocky Holy Trinity Church, the visit of which is limited.
- Nemyriv ancient settlement or Great Shafts - the locality where the settlements of the early Scythian tribes settled.

- Kemp Island;
- the central city park of Gorky;
- Botanical Garden.

Also it is necessary to note the religious sights of Vinnytsia, in which temples of different faiths neighbor:
- St. Nicholas Church;
- Holy Transfiguration Cathedral;
- Church of the Virgin Mary;
- Jesuit church;
- Church of the Resurrection;
- The Lifshitz Synagogue.

In Vinnitsa there are also interesting places that you can visit with your children:
- zoo;
- a confectionery and a chocolate museum located on its territory;
- a museum of the air forces of the APU;
- light-musical fountain on the left bank of the Bug, near the bridge;
- the tram museum, for which the real transport was used, any visitor can go into it and consider everything, as well as learn the whole history of its creation and use;
- a museum of retro-technology "Avtomotvelohotoradio."

Walking through the city, you can find a lot of monuments, established as real people, famous in the city or the whole world (Ivan Godun, Pope John Paul II), and just professions (saxophonist, boxer), there is even a sculpture "Ukrainian Song" .
