Outdoor Infrared Heater

Outside the window, cold, rainy weather, and the house has significantly decreased temperature? If you feel uncomfortable about this, then the heating system in the house or apartment does not cope with the task, and you need an additional source of heat. And what if not the infrared heater will suit you best?

Outdoor IR heater - how does it work?

Do you remember how your school teacher-physicist told that heated objects give off heat in the form of electromagnetic radiation, perceived by living beings as heat? We do not see this radiation, because it is above the visible red light, which is why it was called infrared.

Infrared radiation can be of three ranges: shortwave, medium wave and longwave. If the object is not heated strongly, it emits long waves. But as it warms up, the waves become shorter, the radiation is more intense, the outgoing heat is sensible. And with the transition to shorter waves, a person begins to see them in the form of red, then yellow, and after - white light.

It is this physical phenomenon that formed the basis for the creation of infrared heaters. And such heaters do not warm the air at all, but the surrounding objects, which, in turn, begin to give heat to the space.

Outdoor infrared heater - varieties

Today, the most common floor IR heaters, working in the mid-wave range. And they differ in the type of radiation: the radiation can be quartz, halogen or carbon.

Quartz radiators in heaters are a tungsten filament placed in a vacuum quartz tube. In halogen emitters, the lamps are filled with an inert gas, and carbon fibers are used instead of a tungsten filament. In this case, all three types of lamps practically do not differ in their parameters.

Long-wave outdoor infrared heaters for home are a novelty, confidently winning the market. These heaters are completely differently designed: in them the heating element itself is a profiled aluminum plate, into which a heating element operating at low temperature is built. The maximum plate heats up to 300 degrees Celsius (for comparison - in medium-wave heaters the radiator heats up to 700 degrees Celsius).

Advantages of such a device in its increased fire safety and in that it does not burn oxygen in the room.

How to choose an IR heater?

If you want to choose a good infrared floor heater for your home or villa, you need to consider a number of factors: the average temperature during the winter period and the heat loss of the room. In order to guess with the required power of the device, in addition to heat loss and temperature, some power margin on.

So, for living quarters of 10 square meters, a medium-wave infrared heater with 700-1400 watts of power or a longwave heater of 800-1500 W is sufficient.

Outdoor film heater - what is it?

This type of heater is attached to carpet, linoleum or carpet. It is installed quite quickly, has a built-in power controller and three fixed heating modes. The heat dissipation of such a heater is 140 W per square meter. The heater is connected through an ordinary euro-outlet.

The outdoor film heater is assembled and does not require additional adjustment. By order, installation of such equipment is performed on any area of the room.
