A hill for children with their own hands

At a summer residence or just in the courtyard of your house, if there is minimal space, you can set up a home-made hill for the child . Its manufacturing will not take much time and material costs will be small, compared to purchased plastic products.

You can make different wooden slides for children with your own hands, using schemes that step-by-step will help in this task. But for this it would be nice to understand the drawings and be friends with mathematics.

Let's try to build a simple hill for children with their own hands from improvised materials, not using drawings. You can do only the part by which the baby will roll directly, and you can install it on any base.

How to make a hill for children with their own hands - a master class

  1. Here is a miracle-hill to make it very easy, you need a usual carpentry and metalwork tools - a saw, a grinder, a hammer and nails.

Of the materials you need to prepare five boards with a width of 150 mm and a thickness of at least 20 mm. The length can be taken arbitrary, but taking into account the fact that the longer the slide, the more sloping it is. Three boards will go to the sliding part, and two will serve as a handrail.

Another two kinds of timber will be needed - one 450 mm long for giving a fortress structure in the amount of 5 pieces, and two for attaching a slide to the ground with a length of about 700 mm.

  2. For 5 short beams we fill smoothly planed boards with a fusant, and for greater reliability it is possible to walk with a sandpaper or a grinding machine. The board should not sag, otherwise the slide will be dangerous for the child.
  3. When the base is ready, you can proceed to the sides. It is important to calculate the angle of the slide. In this case it is equal to 55 degrees. All angles should be rounded and grinded by emery, because the child will hold on to them, pulling away at speed.
  4. Now, with the help of wood screws, attach the side parts to the base - they must be fastened both to the supporting bars and to the end of the descent itself.
  5. When the hill is almost ready it should be opened with a ship's varnish or any impregnation for external woodwork. To slide well slide, it is painted in 2-3 layers of paint and give a good dry.
  6. Now you can mount a slide on any pedestal and fasten all the same screws. At the bottom, at the base, the logs are piled to a depth of about half a meter and are concreted for the fortress. After that, the bottom of the slide can be screwed to them. When building children's wooden slides with their own hands it is undesirable to use nails, because from the movement they climb out and can cause injury.
  7. If desired, the hill can be equipped with various staircases with handrails and make it more compact.
