Motivation and incentives for staff

In any enterprise, in order for its employees to perform their duties in the best possible way, it is necessary to create normal (and, better, favorable) working conditions. For this, it is necessary to pay special attention to the motivation of employees and to constantly carry out complex incentives.

We will understand, in what the difference of motivation from stimulation.

Motivation is, first of all, a conscious personal motivation for activity, purposeful action and the solution of the tasks set. The basis of motivation is the needs (physiological, value, spiritual and moral, etc.). It should be borne in mind that after the act of primary satisfaction of any need, the impelling impulse is temporarily but significantly reduced.

Motivation can be external (actions and opinions of employees, relatives, competitive and narrow-social motives).

Stimulation can be expressed in the form of systemic measures of external support from the leadership, as a result of which the activity and quality of the employee's efforts is increased.

Stimulation can be positive (various types of rewards and rewards) or negative (threats of applying different sanctions and their application).

How to use it?

The management of any enterprise for its successful functioning needs to purposefully and systematically create conditions for increasing (or at least maintaining) employees' labor activity. Increasing the interest of employees in the results of their activities potentiates the strengthening of internal motivation.

Methods of stimulation and motivation

The most effective incentive to influence employees is expressed not only in the amount of wages, but in other forms of regular and irregular payments and providing a simplified and cheaper comfortable access to various material and non-material benefits to meet the different needs of employees.

Increasing the professional status, oral intangible incentives, the attitude of colleagues and the possibility of realizing one's own ideas within the framework of the enterprise (or on its basis) also plays a very important role in relation to employees to the enterprise they work for and participation in its activities.

To properly organize the process of incentives and positive motivation of employees, it is necessary to apply a specific system of assessing their work activities. This system should be understandable, specific and transparent for all employees.

When carrying out work on stimulation and motivation, one should carefully study the personality of the employee and his environment in order to identify the factors motivating him. You should also have an idea of his personal preferences and preferences. It is ineffective to apply one general concept to all, because people have different value orientations in different issues. One is more interested in money and good, the other with ideas and the possibility of self-expression, the third - the convenience of conditions (both physical and psychological). Usually, these motives are combined in the employee in some form or quantity. Therefore, management needs an individual approach to each employee.

It should be borne in mind that the situation when the working conditions are compensated by the size of wages, of course, can be considered normal, but management must constantly and systematically work to improve conditions and increase the culture of work. And, of course, do not forget about such approaches as the scientific organization of labor, for which the cadre managers and managers need to study not only social and business psychology, but also ergonomic psychology.
