Liseberg


The amusement park Liseberg, which is located in Gothenburg, is the largest in Sweden and one of the largest in Europe. In addition, it is included in the TOP-10 of the best amusement parks in the world.

A bit of history

Its name Liseberg received long before it became a park: it was given to this land in 1753 by its owner, Johan Anders Lamberg. He named the estate in honor of his wife: the name is translated from Swedish as "Liza Mountain."

In 1908, the municipal authorities of Gothenburg bought this territory, after which they began to equip an amusement park. It opened to visitors in 1923.

Recreation Park

First of all, Liseberg is a recreation park. There are many flower gardens, neat paths with benches. There are places for picnics.

On the territory of the park there is an open concert stage where often concerts of famous Swedish performers and sometimes world stars are held. Regularly held various performances of theatrical, singing and dance groups, quests, discos. Attractions

The park has about 40 attractions for every taste and age - from simple, but colorful carousels for the youngest to complex and dangerous rides. Baldur's roller coaster is famous all over Europe, in addition, they have been recognized several times as the best of the wooden slides in the world.

Another well-known attraction is the Liseberg Tower, where you can climb to a height of 120 m. Populen and Kanunen - trailer, which raises its passengers to a height of 24 m at an angle of 90 °, and then drops them down very quickly.

One of the new attractions, AtmosFear, also attracts extreme lovers: it is a free fall attraction when the booth falls vertically down from a height of 115 m. Visitors to the park who risked trying this attraction experience an overload of 4g. In general, it should be noted that the park is constantly evolving: new attractions appear here no less than once every two years.

Infrastructure of the park

On the territory of Liseberg there are more than a dozen restaurants and as many, if not more, cafes. They mainly offer Scandinavian and classic Swedish cuisine . There is also a sushi-cafe. For those who came to Gothenburg exclusively for the sake of visiting Liseberg, in the park there is a hotel , guesthouse, youth hostel and even camping.

How and when to visit the park?

From Stockholm to Gothenburg can be reached by plane (the road takes 55 minutes), by train (several trains run, one route takes 3 hours 15 minutes, the other - 3 hours 21 minutes). The car should go on E4 and road number 40, or along the E18 and E20, but in this case the road takes much longer (5 and 5.5 hours respectively).

The park is open all year round. However, in winter, most of the rides are closed, but at this time there is an ice rink, there are other entertainments that you can visit on weekends. Also, Liseberg works during the Christmas holidays - there is a special fair here.

Attractions traditionally begin to work on Easter. Liseberg is open all days of the week, in the summer from 11:00 to 23:00, in April, May, September and October - until 18:00 (the schedule should be specified on the park's website). Admission fee: adult ticket costs 375 SEK (slightly more than $ 31), a ticket for children above 110 cm - 190 CZK (about $ 22), children below 110 cm - free of charge.
