Kalardovo is one of the most famous beaches in Montenegro , awarded the Blue Flag. There is a beach near the town of Tivat . It is famous not only for its cleanliness, soft and fine sand and well-developed infrastructure, but also for some "exoticism": just near the beach there is an airport , so you can clearly see the landing and taking off aircraft from the shore.
Kalardovo beach is very popular as a place for family rest : the entrance to the water is very gentle, near the shore is shallow, and the water is warming up perfectly, which makes the beach one of the best for rest with children.
Infrastructure of the beach
The beach of Kalardovo offers its visitors everything that allows to provide comfortable and fascinating rest. Of course, there are traditional sun beds, umbrellas from the sun; the cost of their lease is quite small, but those who want to save can use their own bedding and umbrellas. The beach is equipped with toilets, locker rooms, showers. The safety of bathers is monitored by rescuers.
Kalardovo is popular with holidaymakers with children not only thanks to a smooth descent into the water - there is something to take a child: right next to the beach are play areas with very interesting attractions. For example, little fusses like the "pirate ship". There are also various swings for children of different ages, and for the smallest ones - sandboxes.
Animator works on the site, children's performances, parties, quizes, concerts and other events are held regularly. For adults, Kalardovo Beach offers basketball and volleyball courts. Here you can do kayaking, rent an inflatable SUP-surfboard or go fishing.
Not far from the beach is the Island of Flowers , where you can go on an excursion . And you can go to Tivat and see the local attractions : the medieval Bucha Palace, the Michael Archangel Monastery, the Botanical Garden and others.
Restaurants and cafes
Right on the beach of Kalardovo is the eponymous restaurant, famous for its dishes of fish and seafood. Lovers of fishing can order dishes from the sea inhabitants themselves caught by them. For children the restaurant offers a special children's menu.
There are other restaurants and several cafes and bars where you can not only taste refreshing and hot drinks, ice cream and other desserts, but also dance and sing in karaoke.
How to get to Kalardovo beach?
One of the drawbacks of the beach is that it can only be reached by car - from Tivat , and from other localities, it is relatively far away, and there is no bus connection with it. It is possible to reach the beach from Tivat airport fast enough: from the MIVIS gas station, turn towards the airport, round the runway, drive along it, turn right and go to refueling along Aerodromska street. The distance is slightly less than 3 km, and you can overcome it in about 7 minutes. The car can be left in a guarded parking lot right next to the beach.
