Such natural material as henna has been used for a long time to paint nails and apply various tattoos, but most often it is used as a hair dye. The painting of henna existed long before the appearance of modern colors, and today we will tell you how to properly color hair with henna.
Henna staining
Painting henna in the home is not particularly difficult. First of all, you need to determine the shade that you want to get, and depending on this, choose henna. There are three types of henna:
- colorless henna;
- white henna;
- colored henna.
Coloring with henna - shades
Painting of henna in red color is possible when using the chestnut color of this remedy. If you use non-Iranian, and Indian henna, then you will have more color variations. For example, Indian henna has chestnut, brown and gold colors, and their mixing can give a few extra.
As a rule, the greatest effect is achieved with dyeing of light hair, while black hair acquires only a slight shade. However, blondes henna is not recommended - there is a high likelihood of staining in a carrot-red color. There are few extremals that will like this color.
If you need not so much the color of henna, how much giving a natural shine to the hair, then choose the shades that are close to your natural color. If you just want to heal your hair, use only natural, colorless henna. It does not have a color effect, as it is made from the stems of the Lavonia, which do not contain a coloring pigment. As a mask, it can be used even after dyeing the hair with chemical paints, however, not immediately, but after two or three days.
Basic rules for painting henna
Before you paint hair with henna, they are recommended to be washed well and slightly dried. Plated tips are best pre-cut, as their color will be more intense. Also, the hair must be carefully combed.
To paint henna a standard set of tools is used:
- brush;
- bowl;
- comb;
- gloves.
The amount of henna is calculated based on the length of the hair. For medium length hair, about 3 bags of henna are needed, 3-4 teaspoons will be sufficient for short hair.
Henna is diluted with hot water to a consistency of thick sour cream. It is best to give the mixture for about 10 minutes.
After the procedure, the hair is covered with a cap and wrapped in a towel. The time of staining depends on the desired result, so it is best to follow the change in hair color. Then the hair is thoroughly washed without shampoo.
Painting hair with chemical paints after henna is not recommended, and in principle is impossible, because henna just does not allow the paint to penetrate the hair.
