Often among the old things you can find some no longer needed boxes and other trifles, which you can give a second life with a simple decor. For example, for beginners, decoupage of the box will be of interest, since decoupage is very simple, but the thing is very stylish. So, first, let's get acquainted with what materials we will need in the process:
- casket;
- acrylic paints (this master class uses colors of colors such as: white, ivory and gray);
- napkins for decoupage (you can use the most common ones for decapping napkin boxes, the main thing is that they have a beautiful picture on them, which you would like to see directly on the casket);
- adhesive for decoupage;
- a small piece of a thin kitchen sponge;
- bristle brush.
With the necessary materials figured out, and now let's proceed directly to the description of decorating the casket in the technique of decoupage in the style of "Provence".
- Cover the box with a layer of white paint. This simple step will help to strengthen the grip between the box itself and the subsequent layers of paint.
- Allow white paint to dry thoroughly, and then apply ivory paint to the box.
- Choose a pattern on a napkin that you would like and fit the style of the overall idea of a casket design. Cut this element out of the napkin and gently glue it with a decoction adhesive to the lid of the casket. Be very sharp when applying glue, so as not to damage the napkin and prevent the appearance of air bubbles under it. Allow the glue to dry.
- Put a few layers of paint on the sides of the box (letting each of them dry thoroughly). Then take a brush with a stiff bristle and carefully place the gray paint on the casket on the sides, as well as on the edges of the lid, so that the decoupage pattern does not get out of the picture. But be careful - you need very little paint.
- Also for decoration, you can use the color of burnt sugar, which must be gently applied to the edges of the box with a sponge from the kitchen sponge. Allow the paint to dry and coat the box with two or three layers of acrylic lacquer (do not forget to allow each layer to dry before applying the next one).
