Types of Skin

To determine your skin type means to take the first step towards beauty, because caring for it must be chosen correctly. Not knowing the features of your skin and its needs, we will never make it beautiful, and by the age of 30, wrinkles will form on your face, which will be very difficult to remove. Therefore, it is so important to understand what type it belongs to to create the right daily care, which will not only make the skin more attractive, but also postpone aging.

Types of facial skin

There are four main types of skin: dry, oily, normal and combination. Physiologically, they differ in the activity of the sebaceous glands, whose work, in turn, depends on the hormonal background and age.

How to determine the type of skin?

To determine the type of skin, you need to evaluate two factors: its appearance and sensations.

  1. Normal skin type is characterized by a healthy appearance without dilated pores and rashes. Since it has a normal balance of moisture and fat, there is no feeling of tightness and fatness.
  2. Dry skin type is characterized by a matte and dull color due to the fact that the sebaceous glands are not active, and because of this, dry skin often flakes. It almost never occurs rashes, but small wrinkles, especially around the eyes, appear early. This is due to the loss of elasticity due to poor nutrition and moisturizing. The manifestations of dryness of this type of skin intensify if a woman lives in a dry cold or hot climate.
  3. The fatty skin type is characterized by increased secretion of the sebaceous glands, which causes the gloss to appear on the face and the enlarged pores on the forehead, in the nose, cheeks and chin are visible. Such an environment is favorable for the reproduction of bacteria, so often pores are clogged and pimples arise. Positive in this type of skin is that its owner, with proper care for a long time will not find wrinkles, because the sebaceous glands, secreting sebum, give the dermis elasticity.
  4. The combined skin type is characterized by enlarged pores in the nose, part of the forehead and chin. The skin in the rest of the face corresponds to the normal type. Interestingly, in the summer, a mixed skin type can be felt as fatty, and in winter as dry or normal.

The definition of skin type can be not only with the help of these data, but also a test.

Test: how to find out the type of skin using paper?

Wash your face and do not apply the cream. Prepare several sheets of tissue paper or tracing paper and start the test an hour later - blot the face with the sheets.

If everything on all the leaves are traces of fat, then the skin refers to a fatty type.

If the fat was left only on the sheets attached to the chin, nose and forehead - then it's a combination skin.

If there is no fat on the sheets, then the skin is either dry or normal. To determine one of them is easy: if within an hour after washing without a moisturizer, the skin tangibly "pulls together", then this is a dry type of skin.

Care for different skin types

Initially, for all skin types, there are 3 rules: purify, tone and moisturize. 2 times a week, the skin needs to be scraped and deeply cleansed (for fatty and combination types) or fed (for dry or normal types) with masks.

Means for skin care should be chosen depending on its type: for this, any cosmetic means indicates to which skin it is applicable.

  1. Dry skin needs increased moisturizing and nourishment, so it needs a fat cream and foam or milk for washing without abrasive properties.
  2. Normal skin needs to maintain a natural balance, so the cream and detergent should not unnecessarily moisturize and dry.
  3. Care for combination skin is practically the same as caring for normal skin : the only thing is, the mask should be aimed at deep cleansing in the T-zone area.
  4. Caring for oily skin involves a strong cleansing and moisturizing: if it is not enough to clean the skin, it will erupt, and if not moisturize, the sebaceous glands will work more actively, trying to compensate for the lack of moisture.

Care for all skin types should be slightly adjusted depending on the season.
