The Lenten Bread

With regard to bread, it is difficult to apply the term "lean", since most of its species are originally lean, except, perhaps, as buns . Nevertheless, we decided to discuss the most delicious recipes for lean bread in a separate material, for the convenience of all those who plan to cook pastries, limiting their diet from products of animal origin.

Eating bread - recipe

If you want to cook a loaf of unusual and delicious bread, while respecting the framework of lean food, this recipe will serve you well. As a supplement to the test, we decided to use dried tomatoes, but they can be replaced with other dried vegetables and spices.

Hardly sweeten the warm water and dilute the fresh yeast in it. When the surface of the liquid is covered with a frothy cap, pour the solution to a mixture of two kinds of flour and mix everything together. Elastic dough leave to stand for 2-3 hours, and after a time, move it to the refrigerator for another 12 hours. An hour before baking, remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it into the bed. Tomatoes and rosemary leaves turn into a paste and distribute this paste over the surface of the dough. Fold the layer into a roll and cut into longitudinal strips. Weave the strips in a braid, fold it in half and twist both halves into a bundle. Transfer the dough into a bread mold and leave to proof for half an hour. After proofing leave the lean bread without oil to bake at 200 degrees 35 minutes.

Lenten bread without yeast

If your experience with yeast leaves much to be desired, then try baking traditional Irish bread, which rises thanks to soda.

Prepare the mixture from the first three dry ingredients. Take any nut or vegetable milk and pour apple cider vinegar to it. Pour the liquid into a dry flour mixture and add the raisins. After mixing a homogeneous dough, form it into a ball and make a cross-cut in the center, on the surface. Leave the loaf for half an hour at 200 degrees.

Roasted rye bread in the oven

Fans of products made of rye flour know perfectly well that its unique taste is perfectly combined with a light sweetness of dried fruits like raisins. We decided not to leave this fact without attention, and together with the raisins add crushed nuts to the flour.

As soon as the water is heated, dilute the honey in it and pour in the yeast. The finished yeast solution is poured into a mixture of both kinds of flour. Sprinkle raisins and pieces of nuts next. After thorough mixing, you will get a soft and pliable dough that is molded into a bowl and placed on a proofing in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Approached loaf bake in two stages: 15 minutes at 225 degrees and another 25 minutes at 200 degrees.

Pour sugar and yeast to warmed milk. Leave the yeast solution for 10 minutes, then pour it into the flour together with the oil. After quenching the dough, leave it to rise for 3 hours, and then put in the oven for 45 minutes (temperature 190 degrees).
