Barberry has a characteristic tart-sour taste and for this reason it is affectionately called "northern lemon". True, for some reason barberry is not so common in our kitchens as a southern companion, and in vain, because of the content of vitamins and organic acids, they could compete.

Useful properties of dried barberry

The doctors know about the beneficial properties of dried barberry not for the first day, and not even for the first century. By the way, barberry is always freely sold in pharmacies, and only recently it has been actively advertised as a dietary supplement.

Barberry contains citric, malic and tartaric acids. It contains many alkaloids, vitamin C, beta-carotene and tocopherol - due to this barberry is considered a good antioxidant, prolonging youth.
