Mexiprim is a drug related to the pharmacological group of antioxidant drugs of the new generation. It has a sufficiently large spectrum of action and is prescribed as part of complex therapy for various diseases and pathological conditions, more often neurological. Composition and form of the preparation Mexiprim
The active substance of the drug is ethyl methylhydroxypyridine succinate. Issue it in two dosage forms:
- Tablets for oral ingestion, coated with a shell (additional ingredients: talc, kaolin, MCC, povidone, sodium carboxymethyl starch, calcium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol).
- Solution for injections in ampoules (additional ingredient: water for injection).

Mexiprim tablets are prescribed in the following cases:
- vegetovascular dystonia ;
- neurotic and neurosis-like states with severe anxiety disorders;
- withdrawal symptoms for alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse in case of prevalence of vegetative-vascular, as well as neurosis-like disorders;
- problems with memory, as well as mental and intellectual functions (usually in older people);
- the effects of factors that cause stress;
- violations of cognitive functions of a different nature of a moderate degree (asthenic disorders and psycho-organic syndrome associated with craniocerebral trauma, neuroinfections, intoxications, chronic and acute circulatory disorders in the brain, atrophic processes, etc.).
Indications for the use of the drug Mexiprim for injections
Intramuscular and intravenous (jet, droplet) injections of the drug can be administered at the same indications as Mexiprim in tablet form. But injections can also be prescribed in the following pathologies:
- discirculatory brain encephalopathy ;
- circulatory disorders in the brain in acute form;
- non-severe cognitive disorders due to atherosclerotic changes;
- acute purulent inflammation in the organs of the abdominal cavity (for example, acute pancreanecrosis, peritonitis);
- acute intoxication with drugs-neuroleptics.
