Luteinization of the neovulatory follicle

Such a violation, as a luteinization syndrome of a neovulatory follicle, is characterized by the absence of an ovulatory process. In other words, in the menstrual cycle of a woman the egg is maturing, but because the follicle does not burst, she does not leave it. This phenomenon is often the cause of infertility in women.

Because of what develops this violation?

The causes of luteinization of the unvoiced follicle are not fully established. Today, on this account, there are several hypotheses.

So, some doctors believe that this phenomenon can be accidental, i.e. not in every menstrual cycle. At the same time, this group of doctors argues that the immediate impact on the situation has a strong emotional upheaval, stress, carried forward the day before.

One of the main hypotheses is considered to be a disruption in the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary system, which leads to an inadequate production of luteinizing hormone. This leads to degenerative changes in the follicle itself, which is preparing for ovulation. As a result, the activation of the so-called granulosa cells, which contribute to the onset of the ovulatory process, does not occur.

Also, among the reasons for the development of a violation, it is customary to highlight the failure of the metabolic processes in the glands themselves, the ovaries.

There is another theory according to which the development of luteinization of the neovulatory follicle is due to insufficient pressure in the follicle itself, which in turn decreases because of the low activity of proteolytic enzymes.

How is the disorder diagnosed?

The most informative for diagnosis are ultrasound echography and laparoscopy. The first study should be conducted throughout the menstrual cycle, and laparoscopy is done in phase 2 of the cycle (see if the follicle breaks or not).

As for the symptoms, in the presence of which the girl could go to the doctor, she is absent. The basal temperature with luteinization of the neovulated follicle varies as usual, i.e. slightly increases before ovulation. Therefore, women who observe this parameter, do not notice any changes. As a rule, such a violation is treated even when a long time does not get pregnant.

How is treatment carried out?

In view of the uncertainty of the causes of the disease, treatment appears to be a very difficult process. The main areas of therapy in this case are the intake of vitamins, physiotherapy procedures for the normalization of metabolic processes.

In cases where the cause of the disorder is hyperandrogenism (excess production of male sex hormones), glucocorticoids are prescribed (Prednisolone, Dexamethasone, Methylprednisolone). If it is determined that the cause was the lack of progesterone, gestagens (Norkolut, 17-OPK, Organometr) are prescribed.

Almost always use stimulants of ovulation, an example of which can be Clamifene, Klostilbegit.

Treatment with folk remedies of the luteinization syndrome of the neovulatory follicle should always be agreed with the doctor. At the same time, such herbs and plants as Gorisvet, adams root, sage, plantain, quince are used.
