Color of sperm

Sperm is often called the juice of life. In fact, this is a real cocktail of sperm, secretion of the prostate and fluid secreted by seminal vesicles. Sperm is an object of special pride in the male half of humanity. And the subject of special concern. Most often, the reason for experiencing is a sudden change in the color of the sperm.

Color of healthy sperm

The normal color of the semen is grayish white, opalescent (flickering). However, the seed can normally have other shades: yellowish white, milky white.

The bulk of the sperm is a seminal fluid containing proteins, fats, carbohydrates, amino acids, enzymes, hormones, vitamins and minerals. It looks like a viscous transparent liquid. The iridescent milk color of the seed is given by spermatozoa. These microscopic carriers of hereditary information make up only 5% of the total amount of the seed, but they are saturated with a gray-white color. The less spermatozoa in the "cocktail of life", the more transparent its composition.

What determines the color of sperm?

Men often experience, noticing changes in the color of the sperm. And not without reason: any deviation from the norm can be a sign of the disease. However, the color of the ejaculate also depends on the way of life. So, when taking certain medicines, vitamins or antibiotics, the seed can acquire a yellowish shade.

Change the color of sperm can and food with natural and, moreover, artificial dyes. For example, a pink or reddish shade of the seed acquires after consuming a large amount of beets. However, thus changes the color and urine. So to beat the alarm and run to the doctor is not necessary - after a day or two the sperm will get a normal color.

In addition, the color of the ejaculate affects the sexual activity of a man. The color of the sperm after abstinence is more intense, slightly yellowish. If a man had several sexual acts within a day, then his seed becomes more transparent. Experiments in bed can lead to micro-injury in the urethra. Blood from the damaged capillaries gets into the sperm, giving it a red or pink shade, which so scares men. If this is really a trauma, then, as a rule, after a few days everything comes back to normal. However, if the sperm remains red or darkens, it is an occasion for immediate medical attention.

Color of sperm in diseases

Unfortunately, not always a change in the color of sperm is caused by inoffensive causes. Sometimes this is a formidable sign of the disease. At any doubts it is necessary urgently to address to the urologist or andrologu and to hand over spermogrammu. This extended study of the seed determines, including by color, possible problems with masculine health.

Sperm transparent color (regardless of the intensity of sexual life) is often a sign of azoospermia - the absence of sperm in the semen, in other words - male infertility.

Sperm pink or red indicates hemospermia (an impurity of blood in the semen), which is a sign of inflammation of the prostate and / or urethra.

Sperm greenish or dirty yellow - a sign of the infectious process in the prostate (prostatitis), seminal vesicles (vesiculitis) or organs of the scrotum (orchitis, epididymitis, funiculitis, deferentitis). Sometimes this color indicates the presence of a sexually transmitted disease.

Brown, dark color of the sperm indicates the presence in it of an admixture of old blood. The cause may be an inflammation of the seminal vesicles, the vas deferens, and sometimes the testicle. In men older than 50 years, a brown shade of sperm can be a sign of such a formidable disease as prostate cancer.
