Is there a time machine?

The question of whether there is a time machine, is of great interest. The answer to this question largely depends on what is meant by the words "time machine" and "exists."

And in fact, exists, existed and will exist - it is, in fact, the same thing, if the time machine actually exists. After all, time turns out to be nonlinear. Such theories exist. For example, Seth Lloyd was able to correct the closed curve in such a way that the position of the photon in it was transmitted not in space, but in time. And this means that, at least, the information "time machine" exists.

What did Einstein say?

He, as you know, created the theory of relativity . According to this theory, it seems that the question of whether there is a time machine should be decided in favor of ascertaining the possibility of its existence in real life, and not in Wells's novel.

And Einstein considered time not as something speculative, but as the fourth dimension of space. Simply put, this means that there is a "four-dimensional speed" of the object, and for a non-moving object (at rest), it is equal to the speed of light. But if the object moves, the sum of its velocities (three-dimensional and four-dimensional) is still equal to the speed of light, which means that the faster the object moves in space, the slower it moves in time. And if the three-dimensional velocity approaches the speed of light, then the speed in time approaches zero. This is the famous effect of time dilation, which the science fiction writers like to talk about. Well, about how the cosmonauts who returned from the flight did not catch familiar faces: their peers had already died of old age . Is not it a time machine?

"Holes" and "wormholes"

And Einstein discovered that time depends on gravity: near massive bodies it flows more slowly. Hence, somehow distorting the space, just as gravity does, you can create "holes" through it. Then, under certain conditions, it will be possible to break the causal relationship and get out of the "burrow" before you go there. And this is serious. Here only Einstein denied the possibility of the existence of "holes", but it's a pity.

Another attempt to understand whether there is a time machine, is connected with black holes and myth or reality, is also not completely clear. In any case, it is believed that the space giants, dying, are compressed. But the matter does not go anywhere, but turns into something small, but of the same mass. That is, the gravity of such an object is incredibly great. Obviously, somewhere here and should be bent space, letting out to frolic time, but this is unprovable. It is still impossible to take advantage of such a "time machine": before reaching a black hole, a person will disintegrate under the influence of monstrous gravitation on molecules.
