Inflammation of the dental nerve

In most cases, the inflammation of the dental nerve is a consequence of neglected caries . It is after him that the tooth is destroyed so badly that the infection gets to the root of the tooth, hitting the nerve endings. Also, inflammation can occur if the dentist used cavity fillings to treat caries or if the tooth is turned incorrectly, because of this, various microbes freely enter the pulp.

Symptoms of inflammation of the dental nerve

The main symptoms of inflammation of the dental nerve are:

The initial stage of this disease is characterized by infrequent aching pains. Basically, with inflammation of the dental nerve, painful sensations appear during hypothermia or from the fact that a person has drunk or ate something hot. But over time, the nerve gets more and more painful and the pain becomes durable and pulsating. With chronic inflammation, pus may appear in the affected area, and during the tapping of the tooth above the diseased nerve, there is a complete or partial loss of sensitivity.

Treatment of inflammation of the dental nerve

The method of treating the inflammation of the dental nerve depends on the stage and complexity of the disease. If the tooth is not severely destroyed, and the pulp is not necrotic, conservative therapy can be used. In this case, under local anesthesia, the tooth will be cleaned to healthy tissues, and special healing pads are laid in the gum cavity, which are impregnated with remineralizing compounds, anesthetics or antiseptics. Antibiotics can be used during conservative treatment of the inflammation of the dental nerve. They will destroy all bacteria. This therapy lasts up to 2 months, and then a seal that closes the root canal of the tooth is established.

At the initial stages of the development of inflammation of the dental nerve can be treated with folk remedies. Propolis is used for this. Take a little of this substance, put it on the tooth and cover it with a cotton swab. After 2 hours, remove the propolis. This procedure should be performed daily, until all the symptoms of the disease disappear.

If the pulp is necrotic (partially or completely), and the tooth is badly damaged, the nerve must be removed. The removal procedure is carried out using local or general anesthesia.
