Hydrosalpinx - treatment

In this article we will talk about the hydrosalpinx - we will consider the methods of treatment (both folk and medical), we will tell whether it is possible to cure the hydrosalpinx at all or the surgical intervention is the only way to get rid of it.

Hydrosalpinx: what is it and how to treat it?

Gidrosalpinx is called the accumulation of transudate (a transparent liquid of a yellowish hue) in the fallopian tube. The likelihood of its appearance increases, if on the folds of the epithelium of the fallopian tubes of a woman there are adhesions formed after inflammation in the uterus (for example, after gonorrhea or chlamydia). It is in the "dimples" between the spikes and fluid accumulates.

Sometimes women develop a so-called vented hydrosalpinx. Its peculiarity is that from time to time the accumulated fluid breaks, falling into the vagina or uterine cavity. In such cases the woman has abundant watery discharge.

Most often, hydrosalpinx is found when examined by a gynecologist, to which women are treated with complaints of regular pulling pains in the lower abdomen. The main diagnostic tools are: examination, ultrasound, hysterosalpingography and laparoscopy. In this case, laparoscopy with hydrosalpinx is not only diagnostic, but also a therapeutic agent.

What is the danger of hydrosalpinx?

Hydrosalpinx disrupts the normal operation of the mucous membrane of the fallopian tubes. As a result, the risk of ectopic pregnancy and infertility increases, the probability of successful IVF decreases. All this is due to the destructive effect of the transudate on the tissues of the uterus and embryo.

When trying to stimulate ovulation, existing hydrosalpinks often increase in size due to the fact that drugs used for stimulation increase the production of fluid in the mucous tissues.

Due to fluid stagnation in the space between the spikes, hydrosalpinx often becomes a source of constant infection in the body, which further increases the formation of adhesions. The structure of uterine tissues is increasingly deformed, work is disrupted and the possibility of normal pregnancy is significantly reduced.

Medicinal treatment of hydrosalpinx

The general medical treatment of hydrosalpinx includes two stages: therapeutic and surgical treatment (removal of hydrosalpinx).

At the first stage, the goal is to eliminate inflammation. To achieve this goal, physiotherapeutic procedures and antibacterial agents are used. Antibiotics for hydrosalpinx should ensure the destruction of the foci of infection that causes adhesions. Such treatment is effective in the stages of salpingoophoritis, salpingitis and adnexitis. In the case of developed hydrosalpinx, a surgical operation is required.

The essence of such an operation is the so-called "plasty of the fallopian tubes" - the removal of adhesions and the widening of the lumen in the tubes. In cases of severe hydrosalpinx, pipes are recommended to be removed, even if their patency can be restored, this is not a complete restoration of functionality.

Hydrosalpinx: treatment with folk remedies

As already mentioned, curing hydrosalpinx without surgery is almost impossible.

Nevertheless, there are some folk recipes for maintenance therapy, reducing the manifestations of the disease and not giving inflammatory processes progress.

First and foremost, these are microclysters from broths of medicinal herbs (chamomile pharmacy, sage, St. John's wort, etc. Folk healers also very often recommend sitting baths with infusions and decoctions of medicinal herbs, as well as warm compresses on the bottom of the stomach. to treat hydrosalpinks folk methods, but do not forget to regularly check with a doctor and consult with him, because douching, baths, and especially thermal procedures are not suitable for everyone.
