The brewery "Mac" is located in the Norwegian city of Tromsø . It is the northernmost brewery in the world. The plant received its name from the name of its creator. "Mac" is a family business: for a century and a half it is managed by the descendants of Ludwig Mac.
What is interesting about the brewery "Mac"?
On the brewery flags the sign "Mack Bryggeri" - that is its original name. A small factory was founded in 1877, and at that time it was the largest industrial enterprise in the city. Its construction cost Ludwig Macu a large sum. A baker and confectioner by education, Ludwig took the bold decision to create a brewery that has been functioning for 130 years.
To date, Brewery Mack has a wide range, which has gradually expanded. "Mack Bryggeri" produces 16 varieties of beer and slightly less - 13 varieties - soft drinks and mineral water.
During the tour of the plant visitors are introduced to the technology of making branded beer. It also tells about the equipment, which, on the one hand, corresponds to the modern scale of production, and on the other hand it allows producing exactly the same beer as at the beginning of the last century. The tour ends with a tasting of the most famous beers "Mack Bryggeri".
Ølhallen Pub
In the basement of the brewery there is a pub. It opened in 1928. Branded beer here is sold in bottling and bottling, so you can always take it with you. The interior of the pub reminds you that you are in the basement of the northernmost brewery: dark red colors, furniture in Scandinavian style and, like decoration, a stuffed polar bear with an open jaw, standing on its hind legs.
In the pub you can try the strongest varieties of the brewery - the Gullmack Pilsner and Hakon camps. It is interesting that visitors are attracted not only by the delicious famous beer, but also by its guest of honor - Henry Rudy nicknamed "The King of Polar Bears". This is the famous hunter in Norway , who killed 700 polar bears in his career. Rudy happens to be in the pub often enough, and sometimes he likes to tell some hunting stories.
