Why is there an ectopic pregnancy?

By the term as an ectopic pregnancy, in obstetrics it is customary to understand the complication of the process of gestation, in which a fertilized egg begins to develop outside the uterine cavity. More than 90% of all such cases, this process is observed directly in the fallopian tube (tube pregnancy). Which women have an increased risk of developing an ectopic pregnancy?

In the course of studies aimed at determining the predisposition of women to this complication of pregnancy, it was found that the risk of developing an ectopic pregnancy increases in women 35-45 years. In order to prevent this disorder, doctors pay special attention to female representatives who have chronic inflammatory processes that are caused by such pathogens as chlamydia, mycoplasma, ureaplasma .

It is also worth noting that an increase in the risk of tubal pregnancy is observed in those women who had had hormone therapy for infertility the day before.

Thus, it is necessary to say that in order to determine from among many reasons exactly the one for which an ectopic pregnancy occurs in a particular case and understand why this happened, doctors prescribe numerous studies. Among those can be identified a smear on the microflora, ultrasound of the pelvic organs, a blood test for hormones. They play the leading role in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.
