In the west of the island of Langkawi , famous for its many attractive resorts , sunbathing and warm sea, there is a wonderful place - the waterfall "Seven wells." This unique natural landmark is located on the slope of Mount Mat Sinkang near the Eastern Village of Oriental Village. In the Malay language, the name of the waterfall "Seven Wells" sounds like "Telaga Tudzhuh".
Ancient tradition
From a distance the waterfall "Seven wells" resembles long strands of girl's hair. This feature has generated many myths and legends. One of them says that in this place once lived mermaids and fairies who washed their hair in the streams of the waterfall. Once traveling in these parts, the prince decided to catch one of the fairies, but they all became invisible to humans. Local people believe that forest nymphs are still bathing at night in seven lakes, formed by streams of water.
Natural water park
The most beautiful waterfall of Langkawi Island, the "7 wells", is a noisy stream of crystal clear water, falling from a height of 90 m. To get to the top of the waterfall, you have to overcome more than 300 steps (about 20 minutes).
