Have you decided to change the look of your house? Then you can use the quick and relatively inexpensive method of finishing the walls of the house with a vinyl siding, which you can use with your own hands not only to give the building a decent appearance, but also to insulate the walls . Let's try to figure out how this can be done without recourse to specialists.
Exterior finishing of the house by siding with your own hands
For work we will need:
- saw or Bulgarian;
- scissors for metal;
- hammer, screwdriver;
- level, measuring tape;
- galvanized self-tapping screws;
- elements of siding in the required quantity, which will help you calculate when buying.
- The first stage is the preparatory work. From the facade, you need to remove all the protruding details: doors, trim, etc. If there are cracks or crevices in the walls, they must be sealed with a mounting foam. Wooden parts of the house need to be treated with antiseptic, and if the house is made of foam concrete - primer. After this, proceed to the installation of the battens, which will be attached to the siding. Using the level and roulette, we mark out on the walls of the house a straight closed line.
- In the corner of the house we measure the distance from this line to the level of the socle: this line will be attached to the starting bar, so it should be measured carefully according to the level.
- Now, starting from the corner, we attach the vertical guides along the whole house with the help of screws. These slats should fit very tightly against the walls of the house.
- We install waterproofing and, if desired, a heater. For these purposes, a basalt plate or mineral insulation is used, which is laid between the wall of the house and the mounted frame.
- Installation of the siding begins with installation on the base of the water drain. To do this, we fix a rigid structure along the line we have chosen. Now we mount the angle profiles also with the help of self-tapping screws. If you want to connect two elements, they are inserted into each other. Above the drainage and under the windows are fastened starter bars.
- We proceed directly to finishing the house with siding. Panels selected by size are inserted into the corner elements and attached to the profiles with galvanized screws. The mounting of the siding with the finishing bar ends.
