Billund Airport

Billund Airport is a civil airport and is located near the city of Billund in Denmark . It also accounts for the only international airport in the southern part of the country. Next to it is located one of the main attractions of the city - an amusement park Legoland , which is known to every child.

Annually Billund's passenger traffic increases - in 2014, 600 thousand more than in 2002. To date, it is ahead of only Kastrup , located in Copenhagen .

General information

The infrastructure of the airport is very developed, which allows it to receive almost 3 million passengers a year and several million tons of cargo. Also, Billund without any problems accepts large-sized aircraft of the Boeing 747 class, which today land at this airport as part of cargo transportation. But most flights are performed on smaller planes, for example: ATR-42 or Boeing 757.

Five years ago the airport began to work with charter companies, so it began to take long-haul aircraft to Sri Lanka, Egypt, Thailand and Mexico. Despite this, the main destinations for flights were still European capitals and large cities. Surprisingly, there are 6 parking zones on the airport territory, which are named after six countries: Greenland, Kenya, Spain, USA, Australia and Egypt. So do not be surprised if you fly to Denmark, and the car will wait for you on the "Egypt".

A five-minute walk from the airport is one of the city hotels - Zleep Hotel Billund. There is a shuttle service, so it's easy to get to the terminal. Accommodation at the hotel is about 83 USD.

How to get there?

You can get to the airport by bus or taxi from nearby cities:

In Horsens, Aarhus and Scannerborg, the buses of Billund are sent. It is important that eight bus partner companies serve not only the cities near the airport, but their neighborhoods, so getting there is not difficult.
