Current airports in Greenland

For the reception of tourists the following airports of Greenland function:

Aasiaat Airport is located 2 km north-east of the homonymous commune. It serves as a site for local helicopters and Air Greenland aircraft.

Kaanaaq Airport is 4 km northwest of the Kaasuitsup municipality. It is of great importance for this administrative district, as it is the only site in the northern part of the island serving local flights. In addition, helicopters with food and medicines for the residents of the villages of Moryusak and Siorapaluk leave from here.

Kangerlussak Airport is Greenland's only international airport located in the western part of the island. Due to the fact that the airport is far from the coastline, it is considered the most stable platform for receiving large airliners. Every day reception and sending of flights from capital of Denmark - Copenhagen here is carried out.

Civil Airport Nuuk is located near the capital of Greenland. To get to it, you need to drive about 4 km to the north-east of the capital.

In addition to airports, Greenland has one heliport - the Saatut. It serves as a starting point for helicopters carrying cargo.
