To prepare a salad, besides the main ingredients, you also need a dressing, that is, salad dressing. In English it is called "dressing", which translates "clothes": the English seem to dress the salad in the dressing, so in such versions of the sauce is always a lot, the salad is practically floating in the gas station. There are many different salad dressings - from well-known and most popular classic to the most exotic ones. To make the salad tasty, you should know which dressings are suitable for one or another combination of products in the best way, both in the best-known salads, and in various others.

Let's talk about some sauces for salads without mayonnaise. At present, ready-made mayonnaise (in itself not a very useful product) is actively loved by the majority of the population in the post-Soviet space. Meanwhile, mayonnaise (even if it's home cooking) does not contribute to the harmony of the figure.

Sauce for Greek salad

The best options for filling any Greek salads can be considered either Greek (or classic) yogurt, or a sauce based on olive oil.

Pounded garlic mixed with the rest of the ingredients. Can be slightly seasoned with hot red pepper. If desired, you can strain the sauce, but the Greek cooks would not do so.

If yogurt is chosen as the base, it can also be slightly flavored with garlic, pepper and fragrant Mediterranean herbs. Mustard is not needed.

Recipe for Caesar salad sauce

Preparation

We mix in the bowl of the blender yolk 1 chicken egg (or better 3-4 quail to avoid salmonella) with juice from 1 lemon. Add 1-2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, 1 clove of garlic (best to press) and pulp from 4-5 anchovies. Let's try everything with a blender, add about 80 ml of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of white martini or a little water. Still add 2-4 tbsp. spoonful of grated cheese "Parmesan". We mix it.

Sauce for salad with shrimps in European style can be prepared the same as for Greek salad (see above). If you are preparing a salad with rice and prawns in the Far Eastern style, use products characteristic of the region.

Sauce for salad with shrimps

Preparation

Mix in intuitively selected proportions soy sauce with sesame oil, lime juice or lemon. Season with garlic and various types of pepper. You can include ginger in the sauce (especially in cold weather), coriander and fennel. You can add fish and ready-made sauces.

Sauces for vegetable salads in Indian style can be prepared on the basis of yogurt. For some salads, it's good to cook mustard sauce. It is suitable for salads with fish, meat and vegetables.

Preparation

2 tbsp. Spoons of the prepared mustard are mixed with 30-50 ml of cream and 2 tbsp. spoon martini, 4 yolks quail eggs and 1 tbsp. spoon of not too odorous natural honey. You can add a little soy sauce and lemon juice.
