Precancerous diseases of the cervix

Every year the number of women who have a pathology of the cervix is steadily growing, which eventually (in the absence of adequate treatment) can develop into a malignant disease - cervical cancer. Unfortunately, oncological diseases are getting younger every year, and cervical cancer is no exception. Preceding these terrible diseases are precancerous and background diseases of the cervix.

Background pathology of the cervix

The background states of the cervix are considered such changes in the epithelial surface of the cervix, in which the structure, the rate of division, transformation and the life span of the epithelial cell are not impaired. These diseases include: cervical polyps, leukoplakia, ectropion, true erosion, papilloma and cervicitis. Background diseases do not develop into cancer, but they often give rise to the development of precancerous conditions, followed by their development into cervical cancer.

Precancerous condition of the cervix uteri - diagnosis and treatment

Anterior cervix, or dysplasia - is a change in the structure of the cervical epithelium with a violation of its differentiation, growth and exfoliation. Diagnosis of dysplasia is established after an advanced colposcopy , the result of a smear on atypical cells and a biopsy of the site of precancerous erosion of the cervix. According to the International Classification, three degrees of severity of the precancerous state of the cervix, called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), can be distinguished:

In the treatment of medicinal and non-medicinal methods are used. Medication methods consist in the use of applications from anti-inflammatory ointments and gels.

It is possible to use the method of low-frequency laser therapy for 4-5 minutes, in an amount of 10-15 procedures. From non-pharmacological methods, methods of laser and radio wave removal of the dysplasia site are popular. The method of cryodestruction (freezing of a pathological site of tissues) and its treatment with carbon dioxide proved to be well established.

The danger of precancerous conditions of the cervix is that for a long time they do not give the woman problems and make her feel completely healthy. The clinic appears only on too advanced stages of the disease. So again I want to emphasize the importance of regular (annual) preventive visits to the doctor.
