Potato is one of the most popular vegetable crops, grown on private plots and in farms, because many delicious dishes are prepared on the basis of potatoes. For the successful cultivation of root vegetables, it is important to take into account the characteristics of the growth of the variety and the possibility of obtaining a crop in a certain natural zone.
A variety of potatoes "Bellarosa" was bred by German breeders and successfully cultivated in a temperate climatic climate. Officially, in the State Register of Cultivated Plants recommended for cultivation in the territory of Eastern European countries, the variety was introduced in the early 2000s.
Characteristics of the potato "Bellarosa"
The variety of potatoes "Bellarosa" can be easily distinguished from other root varieties by the following characteristics:
- an upright bush has a height of up to 75 cm;
- large closed leaves with a weak waviness along the edges;
- small red-violet flowers;
- smooth oval-round tubers of a reddish hue, with slight roughness;
- The color of the pulp varies from cream yellow to yellow.
The main characteristics of the potato variety "Bellarosa" include indicators for which it is especially valued by truck farmers and vegetable growers:
- early maturity of the variety. Harvesting is carried out, two months after planting, and digging potatoes can be already on the 45th day. In the more southerly regions, it is possible to harvest two crops per season: by harvesting the first harvest in early July, using newly vacant sites for planting potatoes. The second wave of harvest will ripen to the beginning of September;
- stable high yield. From one hectare it is possible to collect 400 centners of potatoes;
- good drought resistance. Undemanding to moisture allows you to grow crops in large areas that are not equipped with an artificial irrigation system;
- undemanding to the soil. The variety "Bellarosa" grows well on almost all parts of the earth, except for heavy clay soils;
- storage- free 93%. This is an excellent indicator given that the variety is early;
- resistance to damage. When harvesting potatoes, up to 99% of tubers are kept in good condition;
- even large tubers have a weight of about 200 g, but sometimes reach 1 kg;
- the starch content is 13-16%;
- excellent taste and friability of the vegetable after heat treatment.
When describing the Bellarosa potatoes, one can not help noting the high resistance of the variety to widespread potato diseases: potato, scab, golden nematode, rhizoctonia, glandular spot, late blight , black stalk, and potato A and Y viruses.
Peculiarities of cultivation of "Bellarosa"
Seed potatoes "Bellarosa" for two to three weeks before planting should be scattered indoors or put in boxes in 1 - 2 layers and kept at a temperature of about + 15 degrees for the appearance of eyes. At higher temperatures, the time for germination
