History of occurrence

The museum was founded more than a hundred years ago - in 1892 and was called the Queen Victoria Institute. This is due to the fact that they opened a cultural institution directly to celebrate the anniversary of Queen Victoria.

Trinidad and Tobago was at that time a colony of Great Britain, and in all regions that were under the control of the kingdom and included in the Commonwealth, cultural objects were created everywhere to preserve the historical heritage.

The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 18 hours, on Sundays from 14 to 18.
