How does the disease manifest itself?
First, it should be noted that the acute form of tonsillitis, depending on the type of pathogen and flow characteristics, can be:
- follicular;
- streptococcal;
- purulent.
Symptoms and signs of these forms of violation, in principle, are similar, but a number of differences are noted.
Thus, acute follicular tonsillitis in children is characterized by the presence of follicles on the tonsils - yellow, yellowish-whitish formations, which are shown through a swollen reddened mucous membrane. It is noted that:
- soreness when swallowing;
- swelling;
- enlargement of the liver, spleen;
- increased body temperature;
- in severe cases: diarrhea, vomiting, confusion.
Acute streptococcal tonsillitis, which occurs in children, is characterized by:
- a sharp increase in body temperature to 39;
- nausea;
- vomiting;
- redness of the palatine arches;
- loose plaque on the tonsils.
Acute purulent tonsillitis in children has all of the listed symptoms, as the forms above. A distinctive feature is the presence of a purulent deposit on the tonsils, which appears due to the opening of the follicles.
