The idea of muesli (Müsli, German) was invented and developed by the Swiss doctor Maximilian Bircher-Banner in 1900 for the healthy nutrition of the patients of the hospital. Initially, the mixture was made from fruits and vegetables. Since the 60s, the popularity of muesli has been growing everywhere due to increased interest in diets with a low fat content and optimizing the style of nutrition.
Currently muesli is considered one of the best options for a healthy diet breakfast. It is a mixture made from cereals (in the form of flakes), nuts, fresh fruits, dried fruits, berries, bran, wheat germ, honey and spices. Usually muesli for breakfast is prepared with the addition of milk or other fermented milk products ( yogurt , kefir, and others). If you do not want milk, the mixture can be stewed with hot water.
You can buy ready-mix for cooking in the store, but it's better to make muesli for breakfast yourself, there will be more use. A quality mix of muesli should not contain preservatives. - prunes - 2-3 pcs .;
- dried apricots - 2-3 pcs .;
- figs - 1 piece;
- nuts (any) - 1-2 tbsp. spoons;
- honey natural floral - 1 tbsp. a spoon;
- dry ground spices (if desired, saffron, cardamom, paprika, ginger, cinnamon or vanilla, only not together);
- milk of the desired fat content or yogurt unsweetened classic live, kefir can be about 100 ml.
Preparation
Cooking in the evening. Prunes, dried apricots and raisins are steamed with boiling water in a bowl and wait for 10 minutes. We drain the water, carefully remove pits from prunes. You can cut prunes and dried apricots not too finely, but it is better to put it entirely. We cut the figs into pieces. Nuts are cut with a knife.
We put all the prepared ingredients and flakes into the bowls (it is possible, in kremanki or soup cups). We add honey and spices. Fill with yogurt or cold milk and mix.
In the muesli you can also add fresh seasonal fruits (slices of banana pulp, pieces of kiwi, currant and / or other berries, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, pieces of pears, plums, etc.).
