Surprisingly, all the attachments you need can not be bought separately. If you have blinds on the window, and it's time to replace them with something more presentable, the basis is quite realistic for curtains.

  1. Here is the whole simple set of necessary tools and materials: fabric, scissors with glue, tape for the bridle.
  2. So, the first thing we'll do is cloth. We measure the final width of our curtains. Carefully iron the fabric, so that it does not leave a single crease. Then we measure the necessary length and width, taking into account the allowances for the hem of the edge.
  3. Cut and process the edge with a thermal tape.
  4. The fabric base is ready.
  5. Since we produce Roman blinds with the help of ready-made blinds with our own hands, we should connect them with a cloth. To do this, take the glue and apply it to the upper bar.
  6. Two parts are glued together. We will cut this intermediate tape to fix the details of the blinds.
  7. Carefully remove the lower rack and while laying it.
  8. As a result, we received this kind of workpiece: the fabric base and the upper rack are already one, leaving five to six intermediate rails to form folds.
  9. Reiki will also be glued to the fabric.
  10. We return the lower rail to the place and fix the structure.
  11. As you can see, it's quite easy to make Roman curtains even without thread with a needle.

How to quickly and easily sew a Roman blind with your own hands?

No old blinds and special skills in the sewing business, too? Nothing wrong! If you can just lay the main line and at least keep a needle in your hands, then you can sew a Roman blind with your own hands in just one evening.

  1. We will need two pieces of tissue this time: basic for the front, white dense for shading. And the lining should be slightly smaller in size. The width of the canvas is equal to the width of the window itself. The length of the canvas is chosen based on the expected size of the folds.
  2. Your task is to connect two blanks into one sheet. To do this, we fold both the inside of the inside and bend the edge of the main in the usual way, while overlapping the edges of the lining.
  3. So that in the future nothing slackens, we make lines through the entire canvas in two directions. It will resemble a quilted jacket.
  4. At the edge of the decorative tape.
  5. Next, we form the folds. Preliminarily put the tape measure on the canvas with the measured final length of the curtains.
  6. Next, manually lay our curtains as it should look in the end.
  7. We take a needle and thread into our hands and fix our creases with a hidden seam gently along the edge.
  8. To the length of the curtain does not sag, on the reverse side, we grab the folds along the entire length, again, manually.
  9. In each crease we need to put a weighting agent to make the structure neat. For this purpose, rods made of wood or metal are quite suitable.
  10. And, finally, it remains to fix our design on the cornice. In our case, this is a wooden board painted in white. Mount it all very easily with a construction stapler.
  11. On the window our Roman curtains, made with our own hands, look quite presentable, and we made them from the most common fabric and wooden slats.
