Hadera

The city of Hadera is located in the central part of Israel , between the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa . Most of the city is distant from the Mediterranean Sea for several kilometers, only the Givat-Olga region is located at the very sea. Hadera - description

The name "Hadera" comes from the word "green", because earlier in this area the marshland prevailed. The history of the city begins in 1890, when settlers from Russia and Eastern Europe arrived here. At first, people suffered from the consequences of swampiness of the territory, the worst thing - malaria. But in 1895 Baron Edmond de Rothschild ordered to dry the marshes and the city began to develop. In 1920, the construction of a railroad that connects Tel Aviv and Haifa began. In 1982, a large power plant, "Fires of Rabin" was built on coal.
